The Theological Sources of the Torah and Labor (Torah U’melakha) Yeshivas

In this article, I seek to reveal the theological sources of Israeli high school yeshivas designated “Torah U’melakha” (Torah and labor). High are schools for 9th–12th grade boys that offer religious studies in first half day secular studies, i.e., science languages, second half. These serve mainly Zionist modern orthodox society. Torah U’melakha unique combining vocational curriculum, such graduates acquire a trade can army join labor force their field expertise. Over years, some were subsequently closed others changed nature from technological. However, educational trend toward labor” has not disappeared. Vocational education, which became technological as well, been assimilated nearly all yeshivas, which, great degree, made redundant.
